THE WARBURTON PLATYPUS
Mr Marley's Message
In the last edition of The Warburton Platypus I wrote the following:
"I am confident that we won't have to return to remote learning in the foreseeable future, but if we ever do, we are prepared."
What a difference a month can make! I was perhaps over-confident, but I think I was right when I said "we are prepared".
I am grateful for the extended holidays that we were given, because it gave our teachers valuable planning time. I hope you are finding the Learning Packs and activities worthwhile and purposeful. As I make clear in our Learning from Home guide, the most important thing is for everyone to stay safe and well. If your child can only complete 50% of the set work, that's fine. Remember to give you and your children a break whenever possible. Please contact the school if you need any assistance.
Due to the changed situation, Three-Way Conferences between student, parents and teacher have been postponed. We will look into the options for video conferencing later this Term, so that you will have a chance to discuss your child's learning progress.
Masks in public are now mandatory across Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. Our students on site don’t need to wear them, and nor do our teachers and staff during instruction time. But we ask parents and visitors to please contact the office if you need to see us in person, and you must wear a mask when inside the school gates.
In order to control pedestrian activity we have locked the main gates. Visitors can use the small gate near the office. Strange days indeed. Thanks again for your co-operation. Please stay safe, and please let us know if you need any assistance during this new phase of remote learning.
