Principal's Welcome
It is my great honour to welcome you to the naturally beautiful and academically stimulating Warburton Primary School, a vibrant school of 67 students, located 70km east of Melbourne. Although new to Warburton Primary School, I bring a breadth of experience and a deep commitment to educational leadership. It is a genuine pleasure to be part of such a warm, supportive and progressive community, where strong relationships and a shared passion for learning are clearly evident.
Warburton Primary School is nestled in the centre of the Warburton township, just off the main road and situated on the banks of the Yarra River between the Dandenong Ranges and Mount Donna Buang. It has a rich and long history, having been established in 1875. Our school is built on four core values: Respect, Personal Best, Integrity and Resilience. You’ll see these in action every day through the way our students treat one another and take pride in their learning, and we celebrate this through our regular Values Awards and Whole School Celebration of Learning days.
Alongside a thoughtfully differentiated curriculum delivered across our four composite classes, students enjoy a rich range of specialist programs, including Auslan, Physical Education, Art and Music. All students also take part in our much-loved Harvest Café kitchen garden program- growing, harvesting, cooking and sharing fresh produce together. This program sits at the heart of our commitment to sustainability and fostering a genuine connection with nature. Our purpose-built kitchen classroom and adjoining dining space provide a vibrant and welcoming environment where this learning comes to life.
I am particularly proud of our strong focus on supporting every child to grow and succeed. Through our Literacy and Numeracy Intervention programs, Tutor Learning Initiative and High Achievers Program, we provide targeted teaching at each student’s point of need. Our approach is informed by ongoing assessment and data, ensuring we can tailor learning to help every student make meaningful progress and reach their full potential. We also empower students to take an active role in their learning- understanding their goals, tracking their progress and celebrating their growth along the way.
We value a strong partnership between home and school, and pride ourselves on being communicative and approachable. Our high levels of parent involvement reflect a shared commitment to supporting every child’s learning and wellbeing.
Thank you for showing an interest in our school and we look forward to welcoming you in for a school tour soon.
