P.E.
Our Physical Education program provides students with engaging and inclusive opportunities to develop fundamental movement skills, fitness and an understanding of sport and physical activity in a fun and supportive environment. Students participate in a variety of activities that build coordination, strength, spatial awareness and teamwork, with a strong emphasis on enjoyment, participation and skill development.
Students learn the rules and concepts of a range of sports and games, developing their understanding of fair play, cooperation and respectful competition. Lessons are designed to be active and engaging, allowing students to build confidence as they practise and refine their skills through modified games, drills and team-based activities.
Where appropriate, external local coaches also support learning by facilitating specialised programs and introducing students to different sports and skill sets, further enriching their physical education experience.
Students are also provided with opportunities to represent the school in a range of district sporting events, including cross country, athletics and swimming, allowing them to apply their skills in a competitive yet supportive environment and experience participation at a higher level.
Students at Warburton Primary School are each designated to a 'House', fostering a strong sense of belonging, connection and school spirit. Our Houses - Warrin (Green: Wombat), Bunjil (Red: Eagle), and Gurrang Gurrang (Blue: Kookaburra)- come together throughout the year for a range of competitive and team-building activities, including sports games, fun afternoons and collaborative events. These experiences encourage participation, friendship, leadership and healthy competition in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Across all activities, students are encouraged to participate fully, develop positive attitudes towards physical activity and build lifelong habits that support health, wellbeing and teamwork.
